Once upon a time in MUMBAI

On Saturday 18-09-10, we (me & pal) had our dinner at Colaba in Mumbai. The reason for being their  was CDS exam on Sunday. But that was not the matter of concern atleast to me. That was just an excuse to be there.

Pal had been there earlier also, so he knew more than me. So he took me to Sagarika- a guest house by army for army personals, but unfortunetly we didn't make it there but fortunetly we reached Sagar- guest house for sailors by navy. Fortunetly! becoz places like Marine Drive, Gateway of India, Hotel Taj etc were at walking distance from us. And guess it just cost us Rs.60/- per day with a lot of facilities in there. After booking our room there we went for a walk to Gateway of India. There we met an TV Actor, oh sorry! but I didn't recognize his name but saw him in many serials of Doordarshan. He was with a friend talking to a photographer. Pal saw him and told me 'oye dekh tv actor', I was just 'chal milte hai'. And next moment we shake our hands, introduce ourself and had a small talk with him.

Pal : Sir aap or yahan kaise ?
Actor(Surprised & Annoying): What do u mean mein yahan kaise ?
I (by handling the situation): Sir, normally yahan par famous personalities aise nhn ghomati thats why he asked so!
Actor: wo sale chutiye hai jo nhn ghoomate.

And he left, but we were shocked how can an actor says that. Honestly speaking ' koi use ghas nhn dal raha tha '  but we made him think a famous personality. After that incident we came back to our hotel. There we met a guy- a navy person, he was from U.P. so its like UP-UP bhai bhai. He arranged 4 beer which cost us Rs.140 (Rs.35/- per beer), we kept those beer in our bag and now on the way to couple's spot- the Marine Drive as anyone can easily see lots of couple's there. We settle down there on sand from the sea, it was around 0930 in the dark, we starts empting those bottle. I agree, that was risky but we took the risk. That was an awesome experience, ' yaroon literally feel aa gayi '. The view of Queen's necklace was amazing. There was an warm up exercise for eyes was also available; for that we just need kept our eyes open and had greenery (salon ghas mat samjhna, this time bandiya) everywhere and we did it.

 Whoever says that
'Raat k 12 baje din nikalta hai,
subah k 6 baje raat hoti hai  '
is absolutely correct for this city. It was around 0130 hrs in mid night when we were on the way to our hotel and there was no sign of sleepiness, the city was running in its full pace.

At the dawn we were on our ways for CDS exam. During this I had an great experience of something without which any Living Being is not Living, Mumbai is not Mumbai and so as this blog. Yes, you have gussed it right, it was the heart beat- The local trains which allow millions to reach their destination daily and I was one of them on that day, but what a rush, f**k even though  I managed to get in properly because get in those trains was also the major issue. Beside all this, it was a great fun and an unforgettable experience.

Moving toward the end I wanna say: Mumbai was same as I heard of it.
                                              'Mumbai humka jum gayi'
